Q. I am taking over the LIM testing in the OR at another hospital that we recently started supporting. The correct procedure that we inherited has not only the expected alarm trip point test, but also a procedure that bypasses the LIM meter, bonds one of the secondary outputs to ground, which temporarily converts the system to normal ground referenced power. This way all of the outlets can be tested with a polarity tester. Afterwards, everything is returned to the regular isolated power condition. This test is performed annually. Does anyone know if this is a mandatory test in addition to the trip point test?

EPA Proposes Amendments to Standards of Performance for Stationary Compression Ignition and Spark Ignition Internal Combustion Engines
Good news and Bad news The good news is the EPA has acknowledged that Demand Response contracts are either in place or being considered at several health care facilities nationwide. The bad news is that the EPA would like to limit the number of hours of run time permitted under these contracts.
